Lid driven Cavity

Hi there,

I have the following doubts in the lid driven cavity problem:

1. In the lid driven cavity problem that is there in the Test case folder, under Dynamic Mesh it is mentioned that :

Mach motion = 0.1

and the upper wall is moved with 33.1 m/sec

If we do the calculation for this problem then 33.1 m/sec is corresponding to Mach 0.1 only. So is it that the movement of the lid we give, the corresponding Mach number we give to Mach motion?

2. In the same problem, the initial condition section Mach number is assigned as 0.05. Where does this come into picture in the problem? Are we just assigning a random value for initial condition only ?

Thank you for your interest in SU2
1. The velocity is specified because we need the direction as well as the Mach number. The overall mach number is needed for finding nondimensionalized force coefficients as well.
2. The freestream values are used at boundary conditions and are used to initialize the flow solution. In the lid-driven cavity case where all the boundaries are walls, this is only used to initialize the solution.

Thanks a lot for the reply :):):)

Hey, Can you send the output file of this laminar cavity flow. I found the configuration file but I want to see the results. If you have the files please share them.
