Hi!

I am trying to automate the process of creating mesh and writing SU2 configuration file based on (a) the boundary conditions in SU2 mesh file and (b) a file that has generic information about flow properties. One issue that I constantly face is: the variables/parameters in the cfg file are changed every time a new version of SU2 is released, and this configuration file is not compatible with any other version.

Is there a way (via python or c wrapper script) I can query which version of SU2 is installed on a computer? That way, the wrapper script can spit out the exact cfg file specific to that installed version.

If you have any better suggestions on automatic generation of su2 cfg file, I would highly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance, for your help.

A config_template.cfg and config_template_basic.cfg are generally included with each release, with updated options. The Testcases/ will also include the updated configs. You may also look at the config_structure.cpp file for more detailed code-based information.
