Hello everyone,

I'm with some problems in performing a Discrete Adjoint analysis in parallel computation using the solution_flow file from the direct analysis to the flow. I'm doing the some proceeder like in CONTINUOUS Adjoint analysis. In CONTINUOUS adjoint I'm doing the next steps:

1- Run the mesh.su2 and the NACA_0012.cfg file with:
MATH_PROBLEM= DIRECT
RESTART_SOL= NO
terminal: parallel_computation.py -f NACA_0012.cfg -n 8

2- Change the name of restart_flow.dat to solution_flow.dat

3- Change in the NACA_0012.cfg file
MATH_PROBLEM= CONTINUOUS_ADJOINT
RESTART_SOL= NO

4- Run the mesh.su2, NACA_0012.cfg and solution_flow.dat file.
terminal: parallel_computation.py -f NACA_0012.cfg -n 8
in the terminal the parallel analysis identify the solution_flow.dat and mesh.su2 to performed the adjoint analysis.

For the DISCRETE adjoint analysis I follow the same steps but, in the terminal, appears only identified the mesh file and says "No restart solution, use the values at infinity (freestream).".

How can I perform an DISCRETE_ADJOINT analysis in parallel with the solution_flow.dat file?

My goal is to do an shape optimization with the solution_flow.dat and the solution_adj.dat file.

Thanks to everyone that help me

Just follow exactly the same steps, but with MATH_PROBLEM=DISCRETE_ADJOINT instead of MATH_PROBLEM=CONTINUOUS_ADJOINT.

Or just execute the discrete_adjoint.py script.
