Has anyone managed to get mesh adaption working in v7 of SU2? When running SU2_MSH, I am getting an error of the form:

Code:
--------------------- Start numerical grid adaptation -------------------
WARNING: Tried to find 2703 cells suitable for adaptation, but only found 0
The following cell types are currently adaptable:
  + triangles
  + quadrilaterals
  + tetrahedrons
Your grid may have too high a percentage of other types.
Number of elements to adapt: 0
Homothetic grid adaptation

Attached is a simple test case of a cylinder in supersonic flow using an all triangular mesh.

Relevant information here https://github.com/su2code/SU2/issues/606
The long term plan seems to be to adopt an external library and deprecate SU2_MSH.

Thanks for the reply.

It also seems setting:
Code:

% Write binary restart files (YES, NO)
WRT_BINARY_RESTART= NO %
% Read binary restart files (YES, NO)
READ_BINARY_RESTART= NO
No longer solves the issue

Any progress in this, I am facing this issue but only for GRAD_FLOW type adaptation.
Other type of adaptration methods works okey.

And saying NO to binary read and writing restart files did not solve it.

Mesh adaption may be activated by downloading the feature_adap branch.
It relies on pyAMG, but still a branch/in development.
I've managed to run 2D axialsymmetric and 3D cases, unfortunately it is limited to TRIA and TETRAS.

You may find more info in this post:
Inviscid Supersonic Wedge Mesh Adaptation Issue

So, you weren't able to use the GRAD_FLOW option, which one you were able to run? Did you try SUPERSONIC_SHOCK?
