I'm a student new to SU2 (and have comparatively little CFD experience in general). I'm trying to run a 2D cylinder vortex shedding verification case and the runtime is quite long for the small mesh I am using (about 1100 time steps over 60 hours - 33000 points in the mesh).



I've attached my configuration file. Is there something in my inputs that is causing such a slow solution? I've tried several configurations (time-stepping, dual time-stepping, implicit, explicit, etc.) and the runtimes are about the same. Like I said, I'm still a little rough around the edges when it comes to CFD, so any suggestions help.

Hi Hugo,

If you could share the mesh (filesize shouldn't be an issue), that would help.

And as you want to run a "2D cylinder vortex shedding verification case" it would be great to share that Paper/Website/etc as well. Because looking at your config file left me a bit confused.

So instead of guessing what you are trying to do exactly, I would prefer looking at the verification case and the mesh+config and see what one can do.

I am just trying to get good results for the Strouhal number, so I don't have any particular published cases that I'm looking at. The mesh exceeded the attachment size, so I've uploaded it to google drive.
