Regarding the Lax-Friedrich scheme, what is the meaning of the"first order coefficient"?

It is the amount of artificial dissipation added to the convective flux to stabilise the scheme. Be aware that this scheme is highly dissipative, you will have a hard time resolving shocks or getting accurate drag predictions.
