Running multiple separate Serial runs on separate cores
 

Hello All,

I'm new to the SU2 world but have been in aerodynamics for awhile in both being formally educated and currently working in industry. However not progressing much past advanced hand calculations and CFD runs in Xflr5.

Now to my question. I recently installed SU2 on a Windows 7 machine of mine which has 6 cores (multithreaded to 12 threads). I've successfully completed running the QuickStart NACA0012 and other test case models. I'm looking to use OpenVSP, Gmsh, SU2, and Paraview to quickly design, develop, and optimize aircraft configurations for personal and professional projects. (Advanced Remote Control Aircraft, Drones, etc..) While I am well skilled with computers, I am not as familiar with CMD Prompt and how to automate it with SU2 and multiple cores. I understand that Windows 7 Can not run in parallel to solve a single run. I'm familiar with batch files if they will be needed here.

I'm looking to find a way to automate/queue running multiple Angles of Attack of an aircraft (multiple .cfg files). This way I can give SU2 a list of files to run and be able to come back to 20-50 completed runs hours/days later.

1. How would I go about queuing multiple files to run one after another?

2. How would I go about having these runs use certain cores? For Example, if I wanted to only use 3 of my 6 cores to do all these runs in serial and as 1 core finishes a single file it begins on the next in line. How would I specify that?

...or am I crazy. haha I'm used to this functionality in FEA software such as HyperWorks so I'm curious if something has been created or is there a simple few strings of code that do this?
