Restarting a unsteady simulation (as a continuation)

I am doing an aeroelastic analysis of a typical section model.
A dual-time step scheme method is set, therefore 2 restart files are required. - I have completed 1 simulation from T = 0 to T = 300 , where T is the time iteration. The relevant output is the pitch angle. - I would like to continue my previous simulation from T = 300 to T = 600. This is done in the config file with the restart command. 2.JPG In the following attachment there are 2 lines - Line 1 is the first simulation starting from T = 0 - Line 2 is the restart simulation (continuation) of simulation 1 - What is expected is that Line 2 JOINS Line 1 at the end point but this is not seen in the figure. - How do I go about in making sure my restart is correct? - I dont think it would be okay to translate Line 2 in pitch to match Line 1's end, or is it? |

I looked at the code and it seems that the bit that integrates the equations of motion for the airfoil is not able to restart properly, when you restart it loses the information about previous time steps and it needs to assume that the airfoil is stationary.
(I don't think this will be fixed anytime soon, that feature has seen no maintenance for at least two years...) |
