I'm still a newbie running the software, though I'd like to use adjoints in the very near future.

I ran a simulation but the number of files generated used up my drive space. Because I ran on a cluster, the number of cores selected also caused more files to be generated. I only desire the output every 250 to 1000 or so iterations.

The config file appears to set the solution frequency to every 500 iterations, which is okay.

% Writing solution file frequency
%WRT_SOL_FREQ= 500

...but when I select more cores it seems to output files at every iteration even though that parameter is set at 500.

My config file is attached. (it's a bit messy with many things commented out) so maybe someone can identify what it causing it to output at every iteration.

WRT_SOL_FREQ is deprecated and should throw a warning that this is the case. The option you need is OUTPUT_WRT_FREQ= 500
