ANSYS mechanical for Hot Isostatic Pressing

Hello,

I'm currently doing a Master's where for my final year thesis project I will use ANSYS mechanical to determine the shrinkage tolerances of a high wall thickness shape (used in the oil and gas industry) during the HIPping (Hot Isostatic Pressing).

I have the shape in ANSYS via workbench and I want to apply the external HIP pressure to the external shape. Any shape shrinkage will be determined on a pre-set value of the Relative Density % in the HIP can, which after HIPping will produce the shape.

I will select the thermal model in ANSYS. However, I'm trying to select the correct ANSYS element as well as identification of external pressure.

If anyone has any suggestions/tips for the above, it will be very much appreciated.

Many thanks
