1D / 3D simulation coupling

I'm looking for a good way to combine 1D and 3D using ANSYS tools.

The correct approach depends on exactly what you want to do, for example extracting information from a 1D simulation and using it as an input for a downstream 3D analysis or taking a coupled approach where only one element in a 1D simulation needs to be resolved in 3D.

I'm an engineer with enginsoft and we have a case study that talks about this using Flownex and ANSYS, might be a good starting point.
