Hello all,

I am currently running a DDES, 2nd order unsteady simulation for an airfoil in deep stall (angle of attack (AoA) = 60^{\circ}). The time discretization was performed by using a dual time-stepping scheme. My Reynolds number is of the order of 10^{5}, and my chord length is unity.

In order to verify the results obtained from the PSD spectrum of the lift coefficient C_{l} with experimental data, I would like to calculate the K-H instability frequency for this regime. I recently found a paper in which I found an empirical relationship for the same, and they had mentioned to use the shear layer thickness for the same.

Does anyone know of a relationship between the shear layer thickness and airfoil properties, such as chord length and the AoA, or any other formulation?

Hoping to hear from you all soon.
