How to plot smooth vortex?

I am using Q-criterion. I first calculate the second invariant of velocity, and then normalize it with the maximal value in the flow field. The vortices are visualized by plotting iso-surface about 0.001. However, I find the vortex surface is very tough and there are a lot of small fragments in the flow field. I cannot get vortices as smooth as the attached literature. I am wondering the reason. Is it because my plotting method incorrect? Or is the resolution of my simulation too low?
Thank you in advance. |
