visualize the Lagrangian particles with Tecplot 360

Hello,

My simulations are for multiphase combustion, in which there are gas phase and particle phase. The point approximation assumption is used here. Is it possible to visualize these Lagrangian particles with Tecplot 360? I need to output these data with my own code, so what are the data structures for these kind of outputing?

Thank you.

Dear OFFO,

I assume that you want to see the diameter or temperature of the particles in tecplot.
Usually I use "scatter" to implement this. The file structure is very simple, (you don't need to have file text headers like other tecplot plt files), (x,y and z mean coordinate of the particle, and dn means diameter of this particle):

x1, y1, z1, d1
x2, y2, z2, d2
...
xn, yn, zn, dn

Save this data to file (you can have the .dat extension but actually there is no need).
Then use tecplot data loader to load this file, and activate Scatter (scatter symbol can be circle or sphere). You will see all the particles in circle or cube.
Or if you want to see these particles within you geometry, you should import plot3d grid file first.(I recommend plot3d file cuz the file only have x y and z variables). Then load the particle diameter file, select "add to current data set" and then select load variables "By Position" load these 4 variables. Activate "Scatter".
The final result may be : (colored by diameter)

Dear Timo,

Thank you so much for your help. I will try your suggestions and will ask you for help if I met some problems. Thank you in advace!!
