Hi,

Is there a way I can create cut-plane with volumetric rendering of the elements on it in Tecplot 2017? I am looking for something like the crinkle cut image in autodesk.

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/suppo...E846F-htm.html

Thanks.

Hi kagoc8,

To create a crinkle cut in Tecplot, you'll need to go to the Zone Style Dialog, to the Surfaces tab, and turn 'surfaces to plot' to 'Exposed cell faces'. Then, you'll need to go to Plot > Blanking > Value Blanking and choose an appropriate value that you want to blank by. For example, you can blank by a Z variable and you should be able to see inside the geometry. You can also use multiple blanking constraints to get more complicated geometries. You may also want to use Data > Alter > Specify Equations to create a 'blanking variable'. This could be a way to use the IF() statement to blank by complicated conditions. For example:
{blanking_var} = IF({x} < {y} && {x} > {z}, 0, 1)
and use the blanking var as the constraint.
