Rotational data in Tecplot

I have a CFX simulation with a rotating domain (transient rotor stator) within a rectangular stationary domain. The rotating domain is set as a stationary frame. If I open the .res file in CFX Post, the rotation is already applied to the rotating domain, and using Stn variables I get accurate results (continuous between domains). However, if I open the .res file (or a .trn or .cgns file) in Tecplot the rotation is not automatically applied. No big deal - I can rotate it through the Axial Rotation feature, but my velocity vectors (and Vorticity as a result) are all messed up. Are there any good ways around this? Any file formats I'm not thinking of that would already have the rotation applied in Tecplot? I've tried applying the equation CFX uses for U_stn after I've rotated the data but that hasn't worked either.
EDIT: Found my issue. I needed to change the vector variables to the Stn. Frame quantities prior to rotation so they are the ones transformed (Plot > Vector > Variables). Then it worked as expected. Last edited by nick.l.thomas; March 18, 2020 at 15:50. Reason: Found solution |
