'm working on a project where we are constantly swapping out zones from various .plt files. I have deleted zones that are no longer being used, but when I look at "Data -> Data Set Info... -> Data Set tab", I see that .plt files with all zones removed are still showing.

The load time is getting rather large, so I'm hoping to delete some of these unused data sets. Is this possible, and where would I do this?

The best way to do this is not use the "append" option when loading additional data but use the replace option otherwise Tecplot will keep a log of all datasets loaded over the session. Hopefully this helps.

But if I use the replace method, all the plot setting I set before will restart, so it is very time consuming, does there have any quick way to make the plot quick without setting it again?

There are a few different methods to work around this depending on some specifics of your data and your workflow. Stylesheets, the replace method, layouts, configuration files or other methods that may be more specialized to specific workflows.

If you want to go into more detail shoot an email to support@tecplot.com and we can go into more detail there.
