Hi guys,

I am doing 3D LES of combustion-related problems and I am using Tecplot to visualize the results.
Does anyone know whether is possible to operate with the variables? I mean, for instance, if you have the velocity components (u,v,w) is there any way you can calculate:

u*u // v*v // w*w

or any other mathematical operations such as

u_=u/u_ref // v_=v/v_ref // w_=w/w_ref

where "u,v,w_ref" is a constant.

Thanks a lot,

Daniel

One thing you could do is to define those functions in the software you're simulating.

You could use Tecplot's "Specify Equations" option under "Data" > "Alter" > "Specify Equations"

Hi Cesar,

Yes, that's an idea, but I'd have to run all the simulations again.
I have already included this in the code and all the new simulations will contain it, but I'm trying to obtain these variables from the old ones.

Thanks anyway,

Daniel

Hi,

Thanks for your replay.
I'm gonna try out this option you mention.

Thanks

Hi Christopher,

I tried what you said and it works perfectly fine, besides that is pretty straighforward to implement.

Thanks a lot,

daniel

Tecplot seems to be very strong in this area. I have used these data functions a lot
