pankos is on a distinguished road
I try to develop and incorporate to my cfd code an importer of CGNS files for cfd solutions. As far as I can see, this file format is such that any exporter of cgns files can have different arrangement of nodes especially when we are talking about unsteady solutions or adaptive meshes etc.

My question is if there is a widely acceptable way to write unsteady solutions in cgns files. Sometimes I see that there are multiple solutions in multiple "bases", some other times multiple solutions in multiple zones or/and all the solution steps in a zone having different parts of the mesh through the "zones". Is there any standard way to find out how the cgns file expresses unsteady solutions?

Also, another question:

Is the existance of more than one NGONs sections allowed when we have a section with NFACES (hedras)? If so, how to find out which NGON section the NFACE section refers to so that I can make the connectivity of the elements.

Thank you
