Description:
Transport of electrolytes and micro organisms in porous media is a cutting edge research topic for various 
industries, experimentalists and computational experts. We recently developed models that simulate 
transport of bacteria in confined geometries representing porous media. The microswimmers are represented 
by molecular dynamics (MD) whereas the underlying fluid is represented by the lattice Boltzmann method 
(LBM).

The master thesis topic will involve:

1. Application to realistic porous geometries and study accumulation of porous media.

2. Study of sticking behavior of the bacteria under and around confimenents.

3. Extension of the model to study dead and alive bacterial dynamics.

Scholarships for exceptional students are available.
