Description:
We are looking for a postdoc to work on numerical simulations on multi-phase 
turbulent flows. The candidate will work with our team on an industrial project 
on scaling in petroleum pipelines. Both numerical and experimental studies will 
be conducted in the present project.

A PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum engineering, 
Applied Mathematics or a related field is required. The candidates must have a 
strong knowledge in computational fluid dynamics, preferably with OpenFoam, grid 
generation and also scientific programming (C++, Fortran, ...).
Background in Direct Numerical Simulation, HPC or machine learning would be an 
asset. English language is a prerequisite for the role.

The projects will be based in Interdisciplinary Fluid Dynamics Nucleus (NIDF), 
federal university of Rio de janeiro (UFRJ), which has one of the best equipped 
laboratories in world. The project will involve research collaboration with other 
universities around the world and also industrial partners.
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out research and publish 
scholarly papers. The position is available for 1 year with the possibility of an 
extension based on performance. The net salary is R$8,200 (Brazilian Reals).
