The main objective of this 5-month project is to investigate the feasibility of 
implementing a reduced-order model for weather simulations in urban areas. The 
effectiveness of reduced order models is strictly dependent on the application. 
Therefore, a proper simulation campaign is required to evaluate its feasibility in 
the context of large-scale weather simulations on an urban scale. Evaluating the 
appropriate turbulence model and mesh size is crucial to providing useful results. 
This thesis bridges the fields of computational mathematics and aerospace 
engineering to assess the potential of reduced-order modeling in large-scale urban 
simulations.

This internship is for prospective Ph.D. students and/or postdoctoral fellows. 
Therefore, to be considered, the applicants must be current master's or Ph.d. 
students.
