Post Doctoral Research Fellow: Computational Fluid Dynamics for Wind Farm Flows

The postdoctoral research fellow will focus on developing CFD capabilities for
simulating wind farms under diverse wind flow conditions, including varying
stratification, surface roughness, and complex terrains such as offshore and
hilly regions. The candidate will collaborate with team members to analyze wind
farm flows, develop wake models, integrate these models with mesoscale weather
prediction systems for real-time applications, and design control strategies to
optimize wind farm performance.
The salary is 18-24k RMB per month plus health insurance and subsidised
accommodation on campus. International applicants coming from their home
countries may qualify for tax relief under DTAA (i.e. no taxes would need to be
paid during the postdoctoral contract period).
Guangdong Technion is a brainchild of Technion Israel. It is located in the
picturesque city of Shantou, which boasts beautiful coastal scenery and has
recently emerged as a hub of fast growing wind industry. The city enjoys
affordable living and close proximity to international metropolitan hubs of
Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
Entry Requirements: PhD in CFD or related area, proven publication track record,
ready to work in team, support graduate students, familiar with C, C++ and
fortran. Experience in wind turbine simulations, boundary layer simulations, and
GPU computations will be advantageous.
