CFD related to automotive applications like external car aerodynamics, climate control, engine cooling, combustion engines, ...

FEM or FDM technique can be used to find out the response of a temperature sensor mounted on exhaust gas manifold.

FEM techniques are widely used to check whether a sensor mounted would withstand the engine vibration and its life
