Inflation layer thickness based on y+
Understanding that an inflation layer on walls is more or less mandatory for a turbulent flow I have begun researching that.
I don't understand completely what should fall in the y+ region. Is it the first prism cell or the full prism layer? To be more concrete, if my y+ value is 3.5e-4 m, should I set that value as the first layer thickness or total thickness in the inflation setup of Ansys meshing? I found two contradicting statements on this topic. The manual states that all wall adjacent cells should be located within the log-law layer, but another site states that the y+ value is only related to the first prism layer. Could somebody please explain this? |
