Hypermesh and CFX

Hello everybody,

I am having some problems importing a 3d-mesh (CFD) from Hypermesh v10 in Ansys CFX v13 or Workbench v13.
Is this possible?

I created the mesh using Ansys User Profile in Hypermesh.

the error message in CFX is always the following:
"ERROR There was a problem importing the mesh from the requested file.
The importing process reported the following problem:
Unable to import mesh: No 3D elements imported."

used Filetypes: *.nas, *.cdb, *.cas

Thanks in advance!

I have no idea about hypermesh but your problem is CFX cannot read the mesh. Obviously an import/export problem. I suspect that the ANSYS user profile in hypermesh actually generates an ANSYS FEA mesh. So you can read that into ANSYS FEA and then pipe it into CFX.

I have had quite a bit of experience with HyperMesh. I did not have to get into exporting etc. because I was focused on one of their application-specific Eulerian solvers (HyperXtrude).
After reading your post, I am curious whether you finally solved your problem. If so, what was the solution?
