cylinders and cones using blockMesh

Hello,

I am new to OpenFOAM and have to use it for a college project of mine. I need to generate a shape, but so far blockMesh hasn't been generating the shape that I want probably because its not entered right.

I need to make a 3D machine part. it should look like a cylinder surrounded by two cones. fluid should be able to go through the cylinder and between the two cones and fall out the bottom to the atmosphere.

Right now I have all of the points connected by arc edges and have made the arc edges into walls. I made the volumes between the two cones and the cylinder into hexblocks.

I heard from my mentor that it might be possible to generate specific shapes instead of just plotting the points to those shapes. could I get some help on how to do that or why my generation isn't working. any suggestions would be helpful.

Greetings Kevin and welcome to the forum!

My advice is that if you are having trouble using blockMesh manually, then try using SwiftBlock: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Contrib/SwiftBlock

Good luck! Best regards,
Bruno
