How to understand the modeling concept in blade modeler

I am trying to use Ansys bladegen for generatinng the turbomachinary blade. I am not able to get any tutorials to understand the ways to use it. please suggest?

I have some material on it. Send email id.

Bladegen vs Blademodeler

hey guys,

I am pretty confused about both these applications (I mean Bladegen and Blademodeler). Are both of these used for modelling blades? I am trying to obtain 3d models for some blades I have designed.

I have information like chord, axial chord, span, stagger, alpha, beta, etc at 3 locations (thats root, mean and tip). But, I am not sure how to proceed with the blade modelling, all I need is the coordinates for root and tip airfoil (or may be mean as well).

Is there any way, I can get some tutorials on using bladegen or blademodeler to obtain blade profile by provide the above said parameters (thats chord, axial chord, span, stagger, alpha, beta, etc).

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

are you using blade modeller?

hassan1201 October 3, 2013 10:34

yes i use blade modeler, import point and extrud the blade, and try to make path flow, Plz any help:confused:

Every time this error appears, when make flow path

Do that in turbogrid or design modeller and then use blade editor/blade modeller tool

hassan1201 October 3, 2013 11:44

I had used design modeler for model the blade, after that I used blade editor to make flow path, Can i send the File to you on your email to check out?

I have airfoil made in design modeler, and i need to make flow path for it.
this figure of my bladehttp://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/att...1&d=1380815954

you need hub and shroud surface. After that you need to do some operation, then you will be able to define flow path. You just need few more steps ... :D

hassan1201 October 3, 2013 13:58

I'd made hub, shroud, inlet, and exit lines after that defined it in flow path but
Error massage appears

Blade modeler

Hi guys! I am new in the blade modeler and try to design a horizontal axis wind/hydro turbine. I think, designing the blade in blade modeler will be better than BladeGen. I need some documentation about blademodeler. My e-mail is: abdmuratoglu@gmail.com
