Effect of initial condition for steady state vs Transient
 

Hi,

We all know, transient is time depended and steady state is not. Here they have discussed it well.

More than this, I like to know, how initial condition affect for steady state solutions. As an example, in open channel flow,

1). Initialize with no water at channel, only inlet with for a constant flow rate

2).Initialize with half filed water of channel, with the constant inlet flow rate

The questions are,

In these two cases steady state results are should be equal or not ?

Both cases with steady Vs transient results are should be equal or not ?
