Porous domain set up

1 Attachment(s)
Good day,

I was setting up a porous domain to simulate a pressure loss inside a fluid domain, but I do have a couple of questions regarding the set up. The porous domain is a cylindrical screen (cylinder with small holes), something the attached picture.

From this screen I already know its linear and quadratic resistant coefficients (from charts). My questions are:

1.- From the porosity settings tabs, what is the intention of volume porosity? I am asking this because with the linear and quadratic coefficients we are supposed to include the consideration of the opening area.

2.- As my screen will act only in the radial direction, I selected the option “Cylindrical components” under the streamwise direction settings and put a “1” on radial component and “0” on axial and theta components, then for rotation axis, I selected a “coord 1.3” which I believe is the “Z axis” for the custom coordinate system I created (As shown on attached image), the Z axis of this custom coordinate system is the same as the axial direction of the screen. Is this set up correct? Or how do I specify the actual radial direction for this case?

Thanks in advance,
