Assessment of High-Resolution Scheme

Hello,

CFX recommands using the High-Resolution advection scheme over the 2nd order upwind (since it is bounded). The price to pay for a high-resolution scheme will however be a loss in the accuracy of the solution where physical extrema occur. Is there any reference/article explaining why the High-Res option should be used ? Some kind of assessment of this advection scheme.

Also, I've read interresting things about limiters (superbee, min-mod, etc..) but I am not an expert and it's difficult for me to relate this to what's implemented in CFX. If anyone could make this clear, I'd appreciate.

Thanks a lot,

Felix
