How to show vector of Axial velocity in 2D plane?
Dear all
I simulate 3D stirred tank. The height of tank is in z-direction. I have some problem about how to show vector of axial velocity in a desired plane (xz plane). P.S. Thank in advance Regards Eakarach |
Hi,
create a plane, then show vectors in that plane; in vector options select "in plane". Daniele |
Thank you. Yes, I do as your comments. But, i want to show only axial velocity vector not velocity vector.

Ok, I understand.
I think it's not possible in fluent, but you can do it in cfd-post if you have it. Simply create the plane, then create vectors on that plane and choose Projection "Coord frame" and choose as direction X or Y or Z. Daniele |

I want to show vector like the attached figures. Please tell me the way to show these figures. Thank in advance Eakarach |
I was able to do it in tecplot.
Put a tick (select) on Slices on the left. Create the slice (plane) you want to show vectors: click on the button with "..." next to "slices"; go to vector tab and select "show vectors" (a window pops up, select U as x velocity, V as y-velocity and W as z-velocity) and "tangent vectors"; click on line color and select "multi 1"; close the slice tab. Go to Contour tab and deselect "show contours". Click on the button with "..." next to "contour", on the left; select from the top x-velocity (or y velocity, or z velocity); change the levels if you need; Daniele EDIT: just to point out that what you requested is not vectors of axial velocity, but vectors of in plane velocity coloured by axial velocity. |
Thank you for you help very much
