Guidelines for running a mixing plane with a centrifugal compressor

Hello,

Does ANSYS have any guidelines/advice on running a centrifugal compressor with vaned diffuser and a mixing plane? I have been trying to run a high speed centrifugal compressor in Fluent, but my simulation never converges or diverges at some point. There is a large amount of re-circulation at the mixing plane and Fluent is limiting the turbulence viscosity and temperature. I believe it's initial flow field that is causing my problem.

I have been able to model an axial compressor with a mixing plane without any issues, and if I use a very coarse mesh for my centrifugal compressor, I'm able to get my simulation to eventually converge. I have read through the Fluent documentation and tried changing the settings for mixing plane, but nothing appears to solve my problem. Does anyone have any advice? Is there any expert parameters hidden in the interface that may help?

Thank you,
Andrew
