Pressure loss

Hi,
when I run a simulation in fluent as a two-phase flow (Eulerian method) in a pipe, one phase is fluid and another is granular, the pressure loss is at least 6 times of the simulation in situation one phase flow with the same physical properties
can anybody guide me?
thanks

Pressure drop in granular phase

It would be difficult to comment on the value of pressure increase, however, pressure increase is the expected outcome. Adding a granular material or even the same material to an already existing flow will always increase the pressure drop. The amount of increase depends on various aspects. Granular flow can increase pressure drop drastically depending upon its inter-particle forces and turbulence generated.
