Wind turbine single blade, extra MRF zone required?

I am facing the simulation of a wind turbine blade. Single blade with 120° rotational periodic domain.


I have seen 2 ways of simulating it:
-On the first one, a MRF zone has been set around the blade that is connected to the bigger domain (no MRF) with an interface.
-On the other case, a single big domain has been done, all set as MRF.


Which one would be the correct approach and why? I see the advantage of having no interface, but I am not sure whether setting the whole domain as MRF can have some drawback.
