How to couple my FNPT (fully non-linear potential flow theory) code with Wave2Foam?

Hi all,
I want to couple my FNPT (fully non-linear potential flow theory) code with Wave2Foam. My FNPT code is generating results in the following form (PFA).Attachment 44072 So,i want to divide the whole domain into the parts(as shown). Attachment 44071 how can i do this.....pls help guys. With regards Nirbhay |
Hallo Nirbhay,
Are you aware of the fact that waves2Foam is already coupled with another nonlinear potential flow solver? You might get the needed inspiration for the coupling by looking at the files called oceanWave3D.[C,H] in the source code. This is a coupling through memory, so you likely need to change the interface, if the coupling is through ASCII-files. Kind regards, Niels |
wave2Foam user manual
is there any user guide exist for wave2faom?? as https://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Contrib/waves2Foam link is not sufficient for better understanding.
how waves2foam is different from IHFoam??? |
Good morning,
Currently, the Wiki is the documentation. It is rather elaborate, so it should get you far. Furthermore, notice that there are several scientific references that you could dive into. The main difference between waves2Foam and IHFoam is that while waves2Foam applies a relaxation zone technique for generation and absorption, then IHFoam applies the generation and absorption directly on the boundary. Both methods have been applied in the literature; sometimes on similar cases. Kind regards, Niels |
