Looking for instructions or package that provides static builds of OpenFOAM

Hi David,

I am also need to run a solver on a machine which doesn't have OF installation. Can you please share if you were able to reomve the segmentation fault you were getting after using Ermine.
Thanks in advance

Quick answer: I've moved your question to a new thread, because the other two threads where you asked were really outdated (were from 2008 and 2009).

At the moment, I'm not familiar with any instructions or packages that provide OpenFOAM in a static build form. After some searching, last time I looked into this was back in 2011 and is documented here: https://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/op...le-solver.html

Either way, if you can provide more details regarding in which Linux Distribution and type of machine you are trying to use OpenFOAM in, it would make it a lot easier to suggest an alternative to you. Because it is possible to build/install OpenFOAM without administrative permissions, namely to install it as normal user in your own account.
