open-volume .stl file

Hi,

I have a .stl file which includes a volume which is open in one side. Now, I want to mesh inside this volume. If I define the point inside volume, it is considered as inside mesh? and I can have mesh inside volume? or the .stl file should be a closed volume?

Thanks for any help.

Hi Reza,

If you wanna create mesh inside your body, you have to make sure your stl is closed. You can execute: surfaceCheck to see if its closed. If it said its non-closed. You have to modify yout stl. Sometimes its tough to do.

Of course there is another way dealing with this. You can generate a blockmesh. Make one of this patch coincide with your stl open patch.

Solved

Thank you.
As you said the volumes should be closed and otherwise it could not be solved.:)
