Stitch meshes with more two blocks
Hi,
I've got some troubles with the Stitch utility. My case has several pairs of patches to joint. I 've got any problems with the first Stitch use, but the next delivers the following message: --> FOAM FATAL ERROR : point, face or cell zone already exists From function void addZones ( const List<pointzone*>& pz, const List<facezone*>& fz, const List<cellzone*>& cz ) Could somebody help me? Miko. |
I have the same problem

Hi Miko,
I may have the same problem. Did you ever solve it? I have attached a picture that shows the type of mesh that I would like to create in order to preserve the orthogonality of the elements. I have tried it using gambit and looked for any way to do it with blockMesh and stitchMesh but I haven't been able to success. Does anybody have an idea? Thank you all!!! Roger |
Dear Miko,
dear Roger, I am interesting in using the stitch command for meshes. Roger have you find a way the stitch your different meshes ? Best regards, Stephane. |
Dear Stephane,
No, I could solve this problem using foam utilities. After that, I also tried to stitch the meshes using gambit but neither there I was able to solve it, and finally I abandoned my intentions because I was out of time. By the way, I also left a post (for gambit) and was answered with some short indications. It may be useful to you. check -> http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ans...tml#post243998 Finally, if you were to solve it, could you please upload it and post a comment with the instructions? Roger |

Hi Roger,
I am able to reproduce such a mesh (3 different blocks) with blockMeshDict. So I do not use the stitchMesh command. Hope it may help you a little bit. Regards, Stephane. |
