3D geometry exported from Mimics, import to OpenFOAM

Hi, I am a beginner. Here is my problem:

I have a series of CT images (a 3D cylinder sample), and I have imported them into Mimics and generated the 3D dimensions. But when I want to import this geometry into OpenFOAM. I get stuck.

Could anyone used geometry exported from Mimics to import into OpenFOAM?

Or is there a good way to import CT images and generate 3D geometry and meshed? I have download "3D slicer". But my CT images did NOT contain the CT information. So I could generated the geometry.

Thanks!

Hi,

I took a look at their website: http://biomedical.materialise.com/mimics

I see that they are able to export the model to STL, which is a format that OpenFOAM uses.

Are you not able to export your model to STL?

Cheers,
Antimony

Hi, I have export them several models files, "*.msh", "*.stl". I think I will try "*.stl" later, thanks for your suggestions!
Best,
Siyu
