CheckMesh Error
Dear All:-
I have successfully created 18 compound wdges in blockMesh without any error or warning. However, when try to check mesh the following message come up:- Create time Create mesh for time = 0 #0 Foam::error:: printStack(Foam::Ostream&) at ??:? #1 Foam::sigFpe::sigHandler(int) at ??:? #2 ? in "/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6" #3 Foam:: polyMesh::calcDirections() const at ??:? #4 Foam:: polyMesh:: polyMesh(Foam::IOobject const&) at ??:? #5 Foam::fvMesh::fvMesh(Foam::IOobject const&) at ??:? #6 ? in "/opt/openfoam6/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/bin/foamToVTK" #7 __libc_start_main in "/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6" #8 ? in "/opt/openfoam6/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/bin/foamToVTK" ^C Knowing that the same above message will come if I run renumberMesh or FoamToVTK (when doing paraFoam it crushes). What is going on ? Thank you. |
Hi Ali,
Can you share more details? The case itself and the log file of your blockMesh process would be very good. |
Thank you Hussam. The case file is attached here along with the sketch of the case study ( the numbering of some points in pencil is used here).

Hi Ali,
you're right .. checkMesh complains about the direction calculation of the mesh. I have tried to explore your mesh and your blockMeshDict, but sorry..I could not find anything. I have to admit, I have no experience in 2D geometries. It may help you to take a look on this tutorial from Tobias Holzmann: https://holzmann-cfd.de/openfoam/vid...metric-meshing Cheers! Hussam |
