Hi Bernhard,

Here's an updated 'just add water' strings for the frontpage:
Code:

* Latest OpenFOAM version: 2.0.0 (16 June 2011)
* Release notes: 2.0.0 | 1.7.1 | 1.7.0 | 1.6 |  1.5 |  1.4.1 |  1.4 |  1.3 |  1.2 |  1.1 |  1.0

News wiki page has been added to the automated system: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Re....0_of_OpenFOAM

Now all that is missing is the image template for 2.0.0 ;)

Best regards,
Bruno

Thank you. Much appreciated. As I am currently on vacation I can't promise on the image

Hi Bernhard,

I was feeling very bureaucratic today so I went ahead and added the following:
So there you go, a few less items on your TODO list ;)

edit: Here is the complete template list of OF versions: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/TestWyldckat

Best regards,
Bruno

Thank you very much. That REALLY shortens my TODO-list. Should we ever meet in person remind me that I owe you an apple juice (or a beer if that is more your thing)

Nevertheless (and that is not a critique that is a general problem) I think that the number of versions introduces a problem for the user "It says here that this works for 1.7.0, but does this also include 1.7.1 and 1.7.1" (usually something works for all stuff in a 1.x family). I think we should add templates that automatically do this

You're most welcome and I would indeed prefer the apple juice :)

I know... but some things only pop up in a minor release or in the git repository, like for instance on a recent commit for 2.0.x: fanPressureFvPatchScalarField: New BC for specifying the pressure supplied by a fan

I also added to the minor versions the category of the major version, in an attempt to give the reader a quicker reference to what is available for that major version... mmm, I think I should have put the reference to the major category in the sub-category itself... i.e., the minor version categories would belong to major version categories... ooops, it's going to have to wait until next weekend for me to fix it :(

Either way, we now (sort-of) have all of the pieces on the wiki... now it's just a matter of figuring out what to do with them :D

Best regards,
Bruno

How is this question related to openfoamwiki.net (apart from a page with documentation on groovyBC being there)?

Wiki - maintainance

I will have to upgrade the Wiki-Software. Therefore during the next few hours the Wiki will switch between offline and online.

I will try to keep the downtime as short as possible, but to avoid inconsistencies I will put it into read-only-mode

New post here when the work is finished

I thought I wrote such a message yesterday. But either I forgot to click send or the mighty internet swallowed it.

Anyway: the system upgrade took longer than expected (some sad story about a three year old script being broken by a system update. You don't want to hear it), but the Wiki is back online and can be edited (upgrade of the Wiki-software is also finished)

I will have to take the Wiki offline for some minutes later this week (but the downtimes won't take that long anymore)

Bernhard

Hi Bernhard,

Here is some more add water stuff, now for the header part:
Code:

<!-- Start of header -->
cellpadding="2" cellspacing="5" style="vertical-align:center;"|
width=16.6% align=center | User Guide
width=16.6% align=center | Forum
width=16.6% align=center | Feature list
width=16.6% align=center | Doxygen
width=16.5% align=center | Bugs
width=16.5% align=center | Community Portal
<!-- End of header -->

Links updated for the new OpenFOAM Foundation, so they should now be future proof.

Likewise for the 1. Refer part on the 1st of 3 tables:
Code:

* User Guide | Additional notes
* Advanced Guide | Additional notes
* Source Code

That's all for now :D

Best regards,
Bruno

Hi Bruno!

Thanks for your constant contributions to improving the Wiki. Especially with these improvements to the front page you have two times the work: first test it, then write a posting, then wait. What would you say to this: we cut out the middle-man. I promoted your account to administrator so you should be allowed to edit the frontpage. If you say "I can't live with the responsibility, especially as there is no extra pay involved" or "I think this is just a plot by Bernhard to work less" then we can stay with the current arrangement.

Bernhard

PS: sorry about that fuzz with the frontpage, but if spambots come through the first thing they try to change is the frontpage, so I'll keep it locked

Good morning to you all,

Merely as a heads up, if you have been enjoying a 'away-from-the-computer'-weekend, then I have been unable to access the wiki-page since last night.

Kind regards,

Niels

Thanks for the notification. Managed to reboot it remotely (something seems to have pushed the server over the edge memory-wise). The last edits I see are from the 30th. Which as far as I remember is correct. If anyone remembers edits after that then I'll go to the database-backups to restore them

I think it happened again :( Haven't been able to access the wiki since last night.

edit: maybe there is some sort of memory leak brought on by the addons that exist since you upgraded the wiki. You know, Facebook and company...

Bruno
