You mean so that they don't have a feedback that registration works. I can only disable read-access. Must have a look how to do that in such a way that the RSS still works (at least I have to monitor that noisy RSS to see if the problem still is there)

Exactly! Although from what I found, with the page disabled, you'll only be able to see the page if you're logged in :(
Although... I've used Thunderbird with success to monitor RSS feeds on pages that require log-in. But I haven't found any page I could test this with mediawiki pages...

FYI: openfoamwiki.net seems to be down at the moment, 13h00 GMT.

Thanks for reporting. For some reason the machine ran out of memory. As the uptime is already ruined I'll update the OS (so expect another downtime in the next hour)

If the server doesn't have swap turned on, then perhaps the faulty application is "console-kit-daemon". It has been plaguing one of our servers for quite some time now... and the simplest solution so far has been to reboot every couple of months .

I'm afraid no. There is not even a program of that name on my machine (sounds like some desktop-stuff and I don't have that on that server)

Just to let you know:
It seems the server is down again at the moment.
A ping -c 3 gives a complete package loss...

Shall we see that as a positive notice that maybe the message will be removed concerning the non-reachability of the sourceforge-repository? ;-)

Thanks for the ping

I'm afraid no. This is just a sign that the server needs to be moved to a bigger machine

And the wiki is down again... just when I was taking care of uploading the new templates for OF 2.2* images :(

edit: nevermind, it's up again...

edit 2: er, then again maybe not... but I got a convenient message indicating the server is having issues

Sorry! This site is experiencing technical difficulties.

Try waiting a few minutes and reloading.
(Can't contact the database server: Too many connections (localhost))
edit 3: and it's up again.

Hi Bruno,

Thanks for adding the version template - perfect timing, as I have just been adding it to the waves2Foam-wiki:)

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday,

Niels

OK. I'll have a look at that (the thing with the database-server is a new one). I have an idea what might be the problem (I added another server to that machine)

Good morning,

I have a problem connecting to the Wiki this morning.

Happy Easter:)

Thanks for the ping. Rebooted it. Seriously considering a new physical machine

ngj March 27, 2013 04:33

And again it works like a charm:) Thanks.

I'm starting to wonder if the problem is due to over-templating? If you have logs on this machine, you might be able to find a correlation between 18th of August 2012 and the memory running out sooner than expected. For reference, here's an example: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php?ti...action=history

If this is the case, then no matter how much RAM the machine has, it will likely run out of memory no matter what...

Don't think that this is the problem. The problems correlate quite "nicely" with the introduction of an additional server that I added to the machine (that is only there for testing purposes and will hopefully move in the next days)

And the wiki is out cold again :(

That's strange. Because I see it without problems (from home). And when I check the uptime it doesn't seem like it rebooted

Strange. Because I never see that (which doesn't mean that I don't believe in the existence of such a page .... but let's not get philosophical here). Next time you see that page could you send me a mail (or a message here) with the time you saw it and I'll check the logs
