shallowWaterFOAM input files

Hello

My question concerns the input-files needed for shwalloWaterFOAM-solver. Does anyone konw in detail the difference between files (h, h0, hTotal) . I found a presentation within the files are described as follow

h = mean surface height
h0 = deviation from the mean surface height
hTotal = free-surface

My lack of understanding: where one could define the surface (terrain). Is it possible at all? Because if I start the solver both files (h and h0) changing thier values. But the terrain surface should be time constant.

Currently I am using OpenFOAM 2.0.

Hi tobiliepert,

I'm facing the same problem. I build up a test case and h values are changing. Did you found a solution so far? I also want introduce bathymetry data or terrain data, respectively .

I would be happy, if you could share your solution!

Best regards,

Andy

Hi,
I want to use shallowwaterFOAM case for tidal water simulation. In Telemac 2d, bottom surface is given as a input. In this bottom surface file is prepared by interpolating given bathymetry points at mesh nodes.
In shallowwaterFOAM I have not found any option to generate such bottom surface file and to use such bottom surface. In this case bottom surface is taken as a plane surface.
HELP ME.
