I want to put the sphere witch is draw in "stl" Attachment 35266 or draw in the solidworks Attachment 35265 in the ".data" to achieve a certain effect like picture 3.Attachment 35264 ?Thank you very much!

See the other thread for instructions on creating a sphere

I went through the example in the previous thread

Here are the simple steps

1. Create a new layout.
2. Data->Create zone-> Rectangular zone
Set the dimensions to 100, 100, 100
Set XMin, XMax to -1, 1
Set YMin, YMax to -1, 1
Set ZMin, ZMax to -1,1
3. Data-> Alter -> Specify Equations
use this equation: {Sphere} = x*x + y*y + z*z
4. Create an isosurface of Sphere
5. Data-> Extract -> Isosurface

You now have a Sphere in Tecplot.

Let me know how it goes

hello Durrell4!
Thank you very much for your help ,I use you method draw a sphere in a layout .I want let the another database “0.data” and the sphere in the same layout :Attachment 35312Attachment 35313But the result is :Attachment 35314.Why it is like this?

Loading data with less variables in to a data set with more

OK we made progress, but we are not quite there yet. If you have a data set with variables like this

x,y,z,Sphere

and you load the data with variables

x,y,z,u,v,w,Rho,P,T,Cp

Tecplot needs to map the variables that you have to the ones you are loading. If you use data alter to create variables to match in the sphere then it will load correctly otherwise load the sphere second and it will load and append the variables.

It depends what version of Tecplot you are using. Some of the trouble might be the version you are using does not support the variable mapping. What version of Tecplot are you using?

Thank you Durrell4!The version of Tecplot I am using is "Tecplot 360 2006".Which Version can I use to resolve this problem?

hello durrell!
Thank you very much for your help! I use the tecplot 360 2013R1.Wen I draw the sphere first ,I load the "0.data".the tecplot prompts “Attachment 35526Attachment 35527".
If I load the "0.data"first ,and then load the shpere,the tecplot prompts “Attachment 35528"
I don't know that is why ,Could you help resolve it ?
I write a letter to you .The "0.data" and the sphere is in the letter.
