Description:

Complex 3D CAD geometry for the successful CFD/FEA/CAE simulation
9:00 - 15:00 BST

This workshop provides an excellent opportunity for attendees to see first hand how flow and thermal simulation can facilitate innovation, and reduce development time and costs. There is no charge to attend but registration is required.

Participants will work directly with CFD specialists to expand their knowledge of engineering simulation. Attendees will use simulation software (STAR-CCM+) to learn new methods for producing better designs, reducing cost and improving development times.

Sample topics covered include, but are not limited to:

> Strategies for building complex 3D physics based models
> Advanced CFD Modeling Topics (Conjugate Heat Transfer VOF)
> Thermal Management
> Electronics Cooling Methods
> Electro-Magnetics
> Battery and Fuel Cell Design
> Handling Complex real world geometries
> Steady-state and Unsteady Solutions
> Automated Meshing including Boundary Layer Mesh Refinement and Polyhedral Cells
> Java & Process Automation
> Overset Polyhedral Meshing
> Java & Process Automation (streamlines iterative design studies)

Who should attend?

> Those who want to learn new techniques for creating complex 3D physics based models with the least amount of pain.
> Individuals involved with or have a need to do complex thermal, physics and flow problems in areas such as; heat transfer, combustion, detail chemistry, aero acoustics, or just fluid dynamics.
> Managers looking for a new ways to make their team more efficient. Methods shown will demonstrate how to focus team members on getting better results from their analysis, and strategies for applying those results to produce more innovative designs.

A variety of industrial examples will be presented, which demonstrate the business and functional advantages of using engineering simulation on your everyday or niche applications.
