FLUISTCOM Workshop. Experimental techniques for Thermo Acoustics and Structural Vibration in Gas Turbines.
High-level scientific courses and presentations will be given by lecturers of several European Universities, Research Organisations and Gas Turbine Industry. The presentations focus on various approaches to the experimental techniques relating to the measurement of turbulent flame thermo acoustical behaviour and to the structural vibration of the enveloping liner.

General information
High-level scientific courses and presentations will be 
given by lecturers of several European Universities, 
Research Organisations and Gas Turbine Industry. The 
presentations focus on various approaches to the 
experimental techniques relating to the measurement of 
turbulent flame thermo acoustical behaviour and to the 
structural vibration of the enveloping liner. This 
research topic is motivated by the need for leaner 
combustion technologies and reduced emissions which can 
lead to the appearance of combustion instabilities in 
combustion systems.

FLUISTCOM Project
The FLUISTCOM project unites researchers from 5 different 
countries in the interdisciplinary field of fluid / 
structure interaction for turbulent combustion systems. 
This action is one of the first Marie Curie Research and 
Training Networks funded by the European Commission within 
the 6th Framework Programme. The research activities in 
the FLUISTCOM project are towards improved understanding 
of transient combustion and its coupling with combustor 
wall vibration. The objective is to come to well validated 
models of transient combustion and wall vibration. This 
can lead to designs and design rules of combustors that 
are extremely robust even in combustion oscillatory 
situations. The reliable operation at low flame 
temperatures and accordingly extremely low nitric oxide 
emissions in large-scale power generation will be 
supported this way.
