Hello,
I have found an issue while I was meshing an inverted airfoil. When I chose the “Create Boundary Layer” option, the “thickness” of that Boundary Layer was not “uniform”. Would you be so kind as to help me? Thanks in advance. …. This is what I have obtained: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/338/problem1d.jpg http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/202/problemsn.jpg The two involved faces are: v_face29={AZ15,144Z15,edge 56,edge 58,edge 60,135Z9,BZ9,v-edge97 (unmeshed)} w12={edge59,edge52,134Z11,IZ11,IA (unmeshed)} http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...w12faceamp.jpg Face v_face29: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/41/vface29.jpg “Zoomed” Face v_face: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/10/vface29amp.jpg Face w12: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/255/w12face.jpg “Zoomed” face w12: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/405/w12faceamp.jpg Create Boundary Layer data: First row a=0.0006 (m) Growth factor (a/b)=1.0206 Rows=19 Depth= 0.0137819 (m) Edges{edge.58,edge.60,edge.56,edge.59,edge,52} http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...ylayerdata.jpg Face v_face29's edges data: AZ15: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/717/az15data.jpg 144Z15: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/17/144z15data.jpg edge 56: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/18/edge56.jpg edge 58: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/268/edge58v.jpg edge 60: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/542/edge60.jpg 135Z9: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...5z9datawen.jpg BZ9: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/803/bz9data.jpg v.edge97: Unmeshed Face W12's edges data: AZ15: See above (Face v_face29's edges data) 144Z15: See above (Face v_face29's edges data) edge 59: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/100/edge59data.jpg edge 52: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/707/edge52data.jpg 134Z11: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/715/134z11data.jpg IZ11: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/853/iz11data.jpg IA: Unmesshed invertedairfoil.zip: invertedairfoil.dbs invertedairfoil.jou invertedairfoil.lok invertedairfoil.trn http://www.mediafire.com/?j47asxx57b6mak7 ...... did you try to attach BL prior meshing anything?
On your first picture we can see an edge (in front of your leading edge) which appears blue (which means meshed) So your BL has to deal with this meshed edge...

Hi -mAx-
I did not. I meshed first the edges and then I attached the BL. I'll try your advice. I am very grateful to you for your help. Regards, Susan. |
