Inflation layer stair stepping

Hi,
I have created a simple 3D geometry of a rocket and enclosed it with a cylindrical fluid domain. I want to create inflation layers along the whole rocket. At first I split the domain along a 90 degree symmetry plane. This allowed me to create inflation layers over the whole rocket. However, when I now want to try to run my simulations without splitting the domain in a symmetry plane I get stair stepping. I have tried changing collision avoidance to layer compression, increasing the maximum angle to 180 degrees, decreasing the gap factor, changing size function, but I still get the same problem. Anyone have any suggestions what else I can try? Attached is a picture of the problem cut at a section plane. //krihamm |

Hello krihamm, I am currently facing this same problem (albeit on a hydrofoil tip). May I know which face did you use sizing on to fix this problem? Can we apply it directly to the boundary face in which the stairstep occurs?
