Hello I have encountered some problems when trying to design a computational domain larger than 800m long - does anyone know why?

Basically If I make a rectangle of 900m x 100m and then try to create a surface from the sketch, the surface won't generate. However if I make it 800m x 100m it works!

Is this a limitation that is known to exist in Design Modeler? Is there a way around it? I would really like to run simulations in Fluent with a domain much longer than 800m.

Many thanks in advance,

Richard

Thanks very much Far - so I would need to go through the ANSYS customer support?

Gert-Jan will become famous soon enough
Alternatively, make your model 10 times smaller in all directions and then scale it up by a factor 10 in fluent or CFX. Not too difficult.

Thanks Jan - I didn't know that was a possibility in Fluent or CFX. I'll keep it in mind for the future

Hello
I faced a problem with importing a large scale Catia model(roughly 30*10 kilometers) into the Design Modeler. I also activated the large model support, but the Design Modeler filed to generate it again. I wonder if there is any way of importing such large models into Ansys And about scaling down the entire model in Catia and scaling it up in Fluent(after meshing), is there any same size limitations about the mesh import into the Fluent?
with kind regards.
